Red Road Recovery at our Salmon Arm location is in need of Part time /Casual cook. Cooking for approximately 10-20 people lunch and dinner each day 
 
In this position you would be responsible for planning, preparing and cooking meals for residents of the assisted living residence. The Individual will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure that meals are nutritious, delicious and appealing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare daily menus that are provided from Executive Chef that are nutritious, appealing and meet the dietary needs of residents.
2. Maintain a sufficient inventory of food and supplies. Report back to Executive Chef
3. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained correctly and in safe working order.
4. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
5. Communicate with residents regarding meal preferences and dietary needs.
6. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
7. Help to create a welcoming and comfortable dining experience for residents. 

 

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef/cook in a healthcare setting or similar environment.
• able to provide healthy breakfasts based on needs with our residents.
• Completion of a culinary arts program or equivalent experience.
• A valid food safe level 1 certificate.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation guidelines.
