Vernon, B.C. — The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Community Futures North Okanagan are partnering to host a critical conversation on the region's economic future. "Vernon Forward: A Conversation with Mayor Victor Cumming" will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, bringing together local business and community leaders to discuss the issues, investments, and initiatives shaping the regional economy.
The premier luncheon event features Vernon Mayor Victor Cumming in a moderated discussion focused on Vernon’s immediate economic outlook, emerging growth opportunities, infrastructure priorities, and strategic future direction.
"Our local business community is navigating a dynamic economic landscape, making direct communication between industry leaders and city leadership more important than ever," said Sonja Harkness, Executive Director of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce. "This luncheon is a unique opportunity to look closely at the infrastructure investments and economic priorities that will drive Vernon forward."
The event is designed to foster a strong cross-section of local independent business owners, industry leaders, non-profit organizations, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
In addition to the moderated presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Mayor Cumming. The event will feature a live audience Q&A session, and registrants are also encouraged to submit questions in advance during the registration process to ensure a meaningful, business-focused dialogue on the opportunities and challenges facing Vernon today.
