New general manager for Greater Vernon Chamber
VERNON – The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce board of directors is pleased to announce new leadership for the organization.
Dan Proulx has been named as general manager of the Chamber, which was founded in 1897 and is the leading voice of business in the community.
“We are excited to have Dan move into the role of general manager, particularly as his time as membership manager has demonstrated experience, passion and a willingness to pursue high standards,” said Krystin Kempton, Greater Vernon Chamber president.
“There’s no question that the pandemic has created challenges for all of us, but Dan has the skills and vision to move the Chamber forward and ensure that the needs of our members remain a priority.”
Proulx has been with the Chamber for five years.
“I appreciate the confidence the board has placed in me and I look forward to working with them and communications coordinator Richard Rolke to guarantee that the Chamber remains relevant and is evolving so our business and non-profit members not only survive, but thrive,” said Proulx.
“I would also encourage our members to contact me directly so I can learn about any challenges they are experiencing and how we can assist them. One-on-one relationships with the business community are fundamental to the Chamber.”
Proulx was raised in Calgary and has been extremely involved in the community since arriving in Vernon in 2009, with a special focus on JCI (Junior Chamber International) locally, regionally and nationally. He was recently elected 2021 national vice-president for JCI Canada.
