Greater Vernon Chamber launches Shop Local Contest

VERNON – Greater Vernon residents can celebrate the season of giving while supporting their favourite local business.
The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Don’t Be a Grinch, Shop Local contest until Dec. 11 and one lucky individual could win their purchase up to a maximum of $500.
“Local business owners are our friends, neighbours and family. They create employment opportunities and donate to our sports teams and non-profits,” said Dione Chambers, Greater Vernon Chamber general manager.
“By shopping local, your dollars stay right here at home. In fact, a study from LOCO B.C. indicates that for every $100 spent with a B.C. local business, $46 is recirculated back into the provincial economy. We hope that our contest will inspire residents to consider their shopping activities and support local.”
As part of the contest, one individual will win their purchase up to a maximum of $500 when they shop at a Greater Vernon Chamber member until Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. The winner will be randomly selected at the Chamber Christmas luncheon Dec. 13. You must keep your receipt to be eligible.
