Sobr Market Vernon - Customer Service/Sales Associate

Posted: 03/17/2026

Sobr Market Vernon is looking for a fantastic customer service/sales associate.

**About Us**
Sobr Market is Vernon's alcohol-free bottle shop. A welcoming space where people can explore a growing world of premium non-alcoholic drinks. We're not just selling beverages. We're creating an experience. Every person who walks through our door deserves to leave thinking "wow, that was great."

**The Role**
We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to be here. Not just someone who needs a job. Someone who enjoys talking to people, who finds meaning in making a stranger smile, and who understands that the small stuff matters just as much as the big stuff. Yes, there will be tasks that aren't glamorous. Restocking. Cleaning. Labelling. The unglamorous bits that keep a small business running. We need someone who does those things with the same pride they bring to every customer interaction because they get it. It all counts. We are 6 months into opening, and you'd be part of it from the ground up.

**What You'll Do**

  • Open and close the store (with some training). Its pretty straight forward.
  • Welcome every customer like you're genuinely glad they came in because you are.
  • Sample products and guide customers through our selection with enthusiasm.
  • Listen carefully, ask good questions, and suggest products that fit what customers are looking for.
  • Answer questions confidently (training provided, curiosity required).
  • Keep the store clean, stocked, and beautifully presented.
  • Handle the unglamorous tasks because they also matter.
  • Assist with special events, markets, festivals, corporate functions, and sports tournaments as opportunities arise.

**How Often You Work**
The position will be between 15-25 hours per week. Hours will vary between 12-7 during the week and 10-6 on Saturdays. Being open to a bit of flexibility in terms of hours would be great. (i.e. A few 4 hours shifts per week, every other day, etc.)

**Who You Are**
  • Outgoing, social, and genuinely lively. Energy is your superpower.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required as you will be interacting with customers, providing product information to customers, and point of sale communication.
  • You’re comfortable with the hustle of a new small business, where we’re all learning, growing, and figuring things out together.
  • Honest and reliable.
  • You want people to leave smiling. That drives you.
  • Mature, responsible, and someone who can be trusted to hold things down.
  • You treat the small tasks with the same care as the big ones.
  • Flexible with scheduling when needed (appreciated but not required).
  • Eager to learn, grow, and be part of something being built from the early stages.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset, but honestly the right attitude will take you further than a résumé.

**Why Sobr Market**
  • Be part of building something. We are only 6 months in.
  • A role where your personality and energy matter more than anything else. Yes, sales keep the lights on and the pay cheques coming but being a great human with a great personality keeps customers coming back and that’s what we want.
  • Room to grow into full-time hours and greater responsibility.
  • Potential to expand with the business should additional Okanagan locations open.
  • Involvement in community events, festivals, markets, and more.
  • Products you can feel genuinely proud to represent.

*To apply, pop by the store and say hi or send your resume to craig@thesobrmarket.com.
