LOCATION: Vernon, BC
JOB TYPE: .8 FTE (4 days per week Monday - Friday), 7.5 hours per day (8:30am -4:30pm)
WAGE: $42.27 - $52.68 Grid 12 Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association (HSPBA)
NONA Child Development is looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team!
The Speech-Language Pathologist works as part of an interdisciplinary team providing assessment, therapy and consultative services to children with communication delays and to work with their families and caregivers to identify and develop activities and routines which will enhance the child’s communication skills.
What You’ll Do:
- Administers pediatric speech-language Therapy to children in a variety of settings
- Assesses strengths and needs of children referred to the program through formal and/or informal evaluation
- Interprets results to parents and other team members
- Develops and implements an individualized program plan for each child in conjunction with parents and other professionals
- Consults to other team members and community partners re the child’s program
- Re-evaluate the child’s progress at regular intervals and update child’s program as necessary
- Works as part of an interdisciplinary team in treatment approach
- Other related duties as assigned by the Therapies Program Supervisor

- Be able to work with parents and other persons providing care to children in an atmosphere of equality and mutual respect
- Be able to relate to and work effectively with children having social, physical, mental or emotional disabilities
- Be able to work and communicate effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team
- Show sound professional judgment and initiative based on training and experience
- Show respect for and willingness to learn from professional personnel in other disciplines and seek assistance when necessary
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university
- Eligible for membership in the British Columbia Association of Speech/Language Pathologists and Audiologists and Certification by the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation
