Weekend & Relief Theatre Manager

Job description: Do you love movies and want to join the hundreds of past Vernonites who have worked at the Vernon Towne Theatre over the last almost 100 years? We have an opening on our team for a Weekend/Relief shift manager! About the Position Job Title: Weekend/Relief Shift Manager: 12-24hrs per week depending on candidate availability Hours of the position are flexible based on the availability of the candidate. It can be as little as 12hrs a week with shifts on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays and be ideal for a college student. Additional hours are regularly available due to special events and are almost exclusively on weekends, evenings, and holidays. Position Overview: As the Weekend/Relief Shift Manager you will play a key part in the daily operations of the Theatre. You will be an ambassador for the business while carrying out and improving operational procedures related to technical operations, staff management, reporting, sales and marketing. Responsibilities span all facets of theatre operations including, but not limited to: • Assist in creating an environment that consistently provides a high quality experience for both guests and staff. • Assist with managing daily theatre operations, including digital projector, working in the concession, managing a small staff of 1-2 people, daily opening and closing procedures. • Identify opportunities to ensure operational and customer service excellence • Support the Senior Manager as needed in carrying out broader initiatives related to sales, marketing and operational strategies. Minimum Requirements • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills • Good communication (oral and written), organization and task management skills. • Good technical / computer aptitude • Retail / POS experience • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment • Prior management experience in food service, hospitality, or theatre an asset • Foodsafe and/or Serving It Right an asset. Candidate will receive training in both. • Ability to lift ~30 lbs of weight (occasional incoming orders) • Ability to climb a ladder to change the theatre marquee sign Work Location: In person
