EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR
Temporary Part-Time Maternity Leave Coverage

This temporary, part-time role provides maternity leave coverage from (approximate start date January 2nd 2026) to (approximate end date December 23rd 2026 / or until the return of the incumbent). Reporting to the Executive Director, the Events and Promotions Coordinator creates meaningful events that help our members grow, connect, and thrive. This role is proactive in identifying event and promotional opportunities and collaborating with local partners and the Chamber team to achieve them.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Promotions Coordination
- Plan, promote, and execute a diverse range of Chamber events, including:
- Develop and manage event budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Coordinate logistics: venues, vendors, décor, food & beverage, AV, speakers, entertainment.
- Create event pages in our management software and oversee registrations.
- Support set-up and onsite event flow.
- Send sponsor thank-yous and follow-up communications.
- Create, design, and write member e-newsletters and member communications.
- Coordinate external submissions from non-profits and paid e-blast sponsors.
- Manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn) with weekly engaging content.
- Represent the Chamber at community activities and events as required.
- Provide occasional front-office support (answering phones, greeting guests).
- Work collaboratively with the Chamber team to develop new event ideas and promotional strategies.
- Maintain a regular in-office presence as required for event and member support.

Requirements
Required
- Experience in event planning and/or promotions
- Strong social media management skills
- Excellent organization and multitasking ability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends (with compensation in accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act)

- Experience with event management software
- Graphic design or content creation experience
- Experience working in member-based or non-profit organizations
Compensation
Salary Range: $27–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
