"Trail North" Presentation & Book Signing
Accomplished North Okanagan author, curator, historian, and masterful storyteller Ken Mather will speak about his latest book, Trail North: The Okanagan Trail of 1858 – 68 and its origins in British Columbia and Washington. The new book tells the story of the historic trail through the Okanagan Valley and its use by the Indigenous people and three different fur trading companies, before focusing on its use during the BC gold rush years of 1858 to 1868. As usual, Mather’s extensive research and abilities as a storyteller make the book a compelling read for those interested in BC’s colourful history. As space is limited, please call the museum at 250-550-3140 to pre-register. Presentation admission is $5.00/person, at the door. Mather will follow his one-hour presentation with a question and answer session and book signing. For more information, call 250-550-3140, visit www.vernonmuseum.ca or find us on Facebook.
