Angeline Chew:
Angeline Chew is the Tourism Manager for the City of Vernon, British Columbia, and manages the Tourism Vernon portfolio.  Angeline began her career in the Vancouver advertising and marketing agency industry in 1993. She moved to industry side marketing with Resort Reservations (RezRez) Network Inc. in 2003. During her time at RezRez, her team won the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s award for Where Magazine Marketing Campaign of the Year in 2004, for their Book Early Campaign. In 2006, Angeline accepted an opportunity with Tourism Richmond to rebrand the organization and to be part of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. After the Games, she moved to Calgary to market resorts in British Columbia and Alberta. Missing Vancouver and the west coast, she moved back to start her own marketing consulting firm in 2011. Angeline relocated to the sunny Okanagan to take on the challenge of moving tourism forward for the City of Vernon in 2014.
 
Angeline holds a Diploma in Marketing Communication from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where she focused on Marketing Communications. She has been a board member of the Travel Media Association of Canada, British Columbia Chapter and an executive of the board for the British Columbia Destination Marketing Organization Association since 2017.

Teresa Durning-Harker:
Teresa is the owner and Manager of Durning Directions & Service Ltd in Vernon BC.  She has been a contractor to the City of Vernon providing Tourism Visitor Services for the past 10 years. Her relationships with Vernon’s stakeholders and industry partners allows her to understand and provide second to none servicing to Vernon’s visitors.
She relocated from Golden BC in 2008. As the Provincial Gateway Visitor Centre Team Lead in Golden she was given the opportunity to apply her Business skills and fall in love with the Province of British Columbia. 
Teresa shares her passion for the Vernon area and the community with everyone. Her focus on collaboration, education, and continual skill growth has ensured success in all areas of Visitor Servicing for Vernon. Community involvement and volunteering ensures she stays grounded and aware of area changes issues and opportunities.  
Teresa has her Business Diploma with a Marketing Focus from Thompson Rivers University, and also National Tourism Supervisor Designation from the National Tourism Human Resource Council of Canada
 
In addition, Graduating from the Digital Marketing Management program through the University of Toronto this past year Teresa has further ensured her team continues to be ready for the future in their field. The evolution that has happened in the past 10 years has brought Vernon BC to the world stage. She is proud to have been part of that and looks forward to the challenges of the next 10 years.

Mike Overend:
As Destination Development Program Specialist for the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association, Mike assists and  coordinates community tourism organizations and businesses to access a broad range of resources, tactical opportunities, funding and expertise in core program areas.  Mike also acts as program lead in the advancement of TOTA’s rail trails tourism strategy.
