North Okanagan Heritage Field Trip
Friday, August 21: Caetani Cultural Centre: Be a tourist in your own town or take summer guests to learn more about the fascinating and elusive Caetanis, an family of eccentric Italian nobility who settled in Vernon in 1921. The father, a duke and prince, abdicated his royal titles and his place in Italian parliament to relocate to Canada. After he passed away, the mother and daughter went into near-total seclusion in this house on Pleasant Valley Road. Join a small group tour of the grounds to hear more of the stories, rumours, and lore of the Caetani family and their legacy. Suggested donation of $10 adult, $5 child/student/senior. Register through www.vernonmuseum.ca and meet at the Caetani Cultrual Centre at 3401 Pleasant Valley Road.
