Hike for Hospice 2022
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of Hike For Hospice nationally. The Hike for Hospice Palliative Care is a unique national fundraising event across Canada that brings together organizations working in hospice palliative care to raise funds and awareness in their community! Each year, thousands of ‘hikers’ will participate in events put on by their local hospice palliative care organizations. All funds raised during the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care stay within the community in which they were raised. The North Okanagan Hospice Society encourages ‘hikers’ of all ages and abilities, as well as their beloved four-legged friends to collect pledges and come out for this fun community event on June 5th. Join thousands of others across Canada, hiking in support of hospice palliative care or in memory of a loved one. The hike will begin in Vernon in the covered area beside the the oval of Polson Park where the crowd will enjoy opening remarks from special guest speakers prior to starting the 4km circle route. To celebrate our success there will be refreshments and entertainment following the walk at Polson Park. We are excited to walk through beautiful Polson Park, but if you are looking for a more challenging hike or want to fundraise "virtually"? We encourage you to form your team or register individually and then hike/walk/bike/stroll or roll wherever and whenever you like to participate! You can also pick up a pledge sheet at NOHS or request one by email. Please watch our website at www.nohs.ca/events and pledge your support now. If you are unable to join us for the fun, please consider supporting another team or by providing a donation directly to NOHS. 9:30am Check in at Polson Park to enjoy the opening celebration! 10:00am Hikers will complete a 4km walk followed by refreshments at Polson Park.
