Funding & Support: How to Hire a Co-op Student
The funding and support landscape for entrepreneurs and businesses is shifting every day. It can be challenging to stay up to date on incentives and opportunities are available. That’s where Accelerate Okanagan can help. Our monthly Funding and Support sessions seek to create a space where businesses can connect with experts in the community and receive assistance in accessing resources currently available. Whether it be government or local incentives, grants, loans or hiring. We hope to see you at this month’s session as Accelerate Okanagan's Community Manager, Alex Goodhew talks about hiring co-op students. Alex is joined by Kathryn Hall from Okanagan College, Mindi Gobbi from the University of Northern British Columbia, Dawn Sheldon from the University of British Columbia Okanagan, and Jessi Guercio from Thompson Rivers University. During this session we will be diving into tips and tricks for hiring co-op students, co-op hiring incentives and grants to be aware of, how to work alongside academic institutions, and will do our best to answer any questions you have. This is a great opportunity to network with 4 different co-op offices so that you can increase your chances of finding a student that is the best fit for your co-op role. About our presenters: Kathryn Hall (she/her), Okanagan College is a Coordinator in the Okanagan College Student, Graduate and Co-op Employment Centre.
