Our Grants 101 webinar is designed to give you the skills to make that happen. The funding and support landscape is shifting every day. With an ever-expanding list of resources, it can be challenging to stay up to date on what incentives and opportunities are available to businesses. That’s where we come in. Funding & Support seeks to create a space where businesses can connect with experts in the community and receive assistance in accessing funding and support resources currently available to them. Be it government or local incentives, grants, loans or hiring, we want to ensure you have everything you need. Accelerate Okanagan's Community Manager, Alex Goodhew, is joined by Pocketed’s Ben Walter and Anjelica Buha to discuss all the basics of grant funding—from how to streamline your application process to best industry tips for winning grants. Ben Walter As a founding team member and the Digital Marketing Specialist at Pocketed, Ben knows firsthand the critical difference grant funding can create for small businesses. With over $2.9B available to Canadian businesses every year from grant funding, his team is on a mission to power economic growth by democratizing access to non-dilutive funding. With experience in acquisition marketing at eCommerce companies such as Indochino, he has helped to quickly scale Pocketed across the Canadian market, bringing new value to an established ecosystem. From oversubscribing their Alpha release by 500% and growing that number by a multiple of 10 for Beta, he has led his team to exceed all growth targets. Ben holds a BCom (Hons) in Marketing from UBC’s Sauder School of Business. Anjelica Buha As a Data Engineer at Pocketed, Anjelica builds and maintains the rich grant database that connects users to the most up-to-date grant information available. She’s a team-nominated grant funding expert, with knowledge of all the grants available on the platform. Anjelica is constantly on the watch for new opportunities to help Canadian businesses access over $2.9B in non-dilutive funding. Anjelica is pursuing a BSc in Economics, Statistics, and Math at the University of Toronto. She understands the importance of non-dilutive funding to small businesses as a result of her studies in economics, and her experience working with data management and modelling systems has been critical to the success of Pocketed.
