Forum on caribou conservation and backcountry access
On April 17, North Okanagan-Shuswap MP Mel Arnold will host a public forum examining ongoing caribou conservation initiatives and potential impacts on backcountry access for all stakeholders.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Splatsin Centre, 5767 Old Vernon Rd. in Enderby.
"This forum is intended to provide a broad range of stakeholders the opportunity to share perspectives on current caribou conservation proposals and consultations," said Arnold.
"To facilitate these discussions, I have also invited representatives from First Nations, the government of British Columbia and forestry, tourism, snowmobiling, heli/cat skiing, trapping, hunting and wildlife conservation organizations to participate in a panel discussion."
There will also be a question and answer session.
