International Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. On August 31st, several Vernon agencies will collaborate to host a special event that aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. 5:00pm: Opening Ceremony 5:15pm: Community Meal 6:30pm: Film: Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy which follows film This drop-in event is being held at the Museum & Archives of Vernon (3009 32 Avenue) and is free to attend. Please note that seating is limited for the film so please arrive early to ensure a spot.
