On Earth Day, this Sunday, April 22nd Planet Bee Honey Farm will host their first annual Bee-Friendly Gardening Day at their store on Bella Vista Road, Vernon. This family-friendly, free event focuses on how we can all do our part to help sustain the honeybee and wild pollinator population. Purchase your Bee-Friendly garden plants, listen to the free Pollinator Workshop, browse a selection of beekeeping and gardening books at sale prices, and even reserve your very own backyard beehive. Learn everything you need to know from Planet Bee and their local partners and do your part to ‘Save the Bees’. Proud partners on this event are the Food Action Society of the North Okanagan, who will host a Pollinator Workshop from 1-2pm at Planet Bee during their Bee-Friendly Gardening Event. Learn about the importance of pollinators in our ecosystems and gardens and get answers to all your burning questions. Free to attend, everyone is welcome. In addition to the Food Action Society, the Flower Spot Nursery from Vernon will be on-site to sell bee loving perennials and annuals for your garden! Ask their representative any questions you may have about bee-friendly plants and flowers for your garden. A portion of all proceeds during our Earth Day event will be donated to ‘The Bee Cause’, an initiative to protect honeybees and wild pollinators by the Friends of the Earth.
